NEW YORK, NEW YORK: SEPTEMBER 12, 2020- Photographer Kay Hickman poses for the camera as the New York Historical Society Museum & Library re-opens with a three-day weekend opening which highlights New Yorkers’ resilience with several exhibitions including..'Hope Wanted: New York City Under Quarantine'..co-curated by poet and journalist Kevin Powell and photographer Kay Hickman.

Hope Wanted: New York City Under Quarantine features more than 50 photographs taken by Hickman along with 14 audio interviews conducted by Powell over a two-day odyssey across the city in April of 2020. Hickman’s thoughtfully presented images portray residents and their neighborhoods in all five boroughs and Powell’s revealing interviews of New Yorkers impacted by the crisis, freeze a moment of historical resilience with heart and grit. Exhibition is on view outdoors in the courtyard.
